
Today’s Nasty’s Nugget was a new “trick” to relieve stress. Like I mentioned, I’m not sure if it will work. I guess it depends where you are at the time and yes, time… I would probably even stress about having enough time to do it. That is something I never seem to have enough of…TIME!
Here are the five steps:
- Think of 5 things you SEE right now
- Think of 4 things you physically FEEL right now (now don’t go feeling up your co-worker, then you will be even more stressed with HR)
- Think of 3 things you can HEAR right now.
- Think of 2 things you can SMELL right now.
- Think of 1 thing you can TASTE right now – for this, what if you aren’t eating anything?? But, it mentioned you could lick your lips. I tried this and mine didn’t taste like anything, hmmm
This is supposed to shift your attention to your senses, so you will feel more focused on them instead of what is really bothering you. But then again, what if you are seeing something that is stressing you out or you feel pain or you constantly hear ringing in your ears or smell sour milk in your car and you don’t know where it’s coming from, or you just ate moldy cheese.
