Sully of Godsmack thanked his fans for wishing him a Happy Birthday yesterday. I think you should take time and read his post!
“Just sending all of you a note to say thank you for all the bday wishes today. And to my daughter Skylar who has been there for me and loves me even when life is knocking me down. I love you with all my heart. Always! For all of you who also find life to be unfair at times, even on days that you feel should be special for you, it’s ok to be humbled and vulnerable. There will always be people in our lives that will love us unconditionally. But there’s also people that sometimes become afraid when a big kind of love enters their life. But that’s ok too. All that means is you have something so incredibly special that it can scare you enough to run from it. Rather than embrace it and grow with it.
So for those of you who love unconditionally I say thank you for doing it fearlessly. And for those who are afraid, please don’t be. We’ve all stood at the edge of that scary cliff before, wanting to jump off, but not knowing if there’s water down there to save us. So we don’t because we’re too scared to trust that we’ll be ok if we do. But sometimes we have to trust taking that leap of faith and just jump, knowing that when we do with the ones we love, you may just be surprised that not only is there water down there, but an entire ocean to catch you. So be fearless, be brave and trust yourself to know that “all we need is love”. The rest just finds a way to work itself out.
