Today’s question was what’s something you’d never sell. A lot of people said their ass, but the way I see it, your ass is one of the very few things you can sell but still keep? So you can sell it over and over. I’m not advocating prostitution, of course; this is merely a hypothetical exercise. But I find myself drifting back to the words of George Carlin, who said, more or less: “Sex is legal. Sales is legal. Why is it illegal to sell sex. Why is it illegal to sell something that’s perfectly legal to give away for free?” It’s never made much sense to me either. Again, not that I advocate prostitution, but it does exist, legally in certain jurisdictions.
