Today’s Question of the day:
We’ve all had dumb arguments in our lives. It happens. But every once in a while we find ourselves defending a position we might never have expected. I’ll give you an example. I’m in a supermarket one day, minding my own business pushing my cart down the aisle, when in front of me a couple begins to debate what kind of mayonnaise to get. The specifics elude me but the gist of it was this: the husband vehemently denied that they usually got a certain brand; his wife swore up and down that they did, and even promised to fish the empty jar out of the recycling bin, first to show him the label, and then to throw the jar at him. I hastened my pace and got out of there fast, certain I was about to start laughing, and I’m not going through that kind of hassle again. People get mad about strangers eavesdropping on their conversations and laughing at them.
