In the first Reaching Out segment is the story of Amber and Haylee, a couple of veterans working to build their own piece of the American Dream.
Amber contacted the station last week asking if we could help spread the word about her and her wife Haylee’s fundraiser. As she said in her follow-up email to me: “We are so ready to start a family. Some people say that having the GoFundMe makes it look like we can’t support a child, but that’s not the case. It’s simply that due to some unfortunate circumstances last year, our savings were bled dry so we just don’t have $3000+ to drop at one time.”
