Today’s Question of the Day:
The impetus for this was something Nasty Bob said to me: “It’s a small world, isn’t it?” And because I love taking these things literally, I said, “Is it really though? Everyone I’ve ever met lives on this world.” It was a dumb joke on my part but it led to her suggesting this as a question of the day, which appealed to me greatly because anytime someone else does my work for me it fills me with joy and excitement. But really, it got me to thinking about the fact that there are an awful lot of common sayings that, from a literal standpoint, make precisely zero sense. And I love that sort of thing, that gets you thinking about things we’ve heard a thousand times from a new and different perspective.
