Well, it started on Friday when I got a call from Banana’s school. The class was making Mother’s Day cards and she didn’t think hers was “perfect”, so she got upset…really upset. I don’t know where she gets this “perfectionist” from because clearly her momma isn’t. So, I had to have a talk with her that I understood and appreciated that she wanted the card to be perfect for me, but it doesn’t have to be and I would love it know matter what.
So, Saturday evening she decided to try to remake the cards they were making in school. She finished it and handed it to me as I handed it back to her, it ripped. She flopped to the floor all upset, again. So, I had to have another talk with her and we grabbed the tape, fixed it and put it up on the mantle.
So, Sunday…it’s actually Mother’s Day and here comes Banana with my presents. A bouquet of roses, cupcakes (because she really wanted them), coffee and a new coffee cup. Now this coffee cup made me crying because it was Betty White as Rose in the Golden Girls. I was so touch. Also, it was hilarious to me because I watch that show all of the time…so much that she can sing the theme song. And…the card! She had a store bought one, but also made another of her handmade cards and it was inside the envelope and guess what…as I pulled it out, I ripped it!!! We both looked at each other and said, I guess we need more tape!
At least this time, there weren’t anymore tears!
