Mark Tremonti = Frank Sinatra

Today, March 21 is World Down Syndrome Day and what a way to celebrate it with Mark Tremonti. Mark has always been associated with of course, Tremonti, Alter Bridge and being a bad ass guitar player, but I never thought we would be associating him with big band/jazz music.

Tremonti is releasing an album on May 27th called Tremonti Sings Sinatra. Yes, as in Frank Sinatra. The album features those famous Sinatra’s song and even some deeper cuts. He performed the album with the surviving members of Sinatra’s band, which was led by Sinatra’s musical director, Mike Smith.

The proceeds from the sales of the album are going to the National Down Syndrome Society.  This is a charity that means a lot to him because his beautiful daughter, Stella, was born with Down Syndrome.

This inspired Tremonti to start a new charity called “Take a Chance for Charity”. He is challenging other artists, athletes, and celebrities to create something out of the norm for them with the proceeds going to charity close to their heart. This Sinatra project is under the “Take a Chance for Charity” umbrella.

I really hope this charity takes off! I can’t wait for the album!

PS…Mark, if you read this could you please send me an autograph copy. Thanks! 😍
