I’ve had poor eyesight all my life, and while I have always considered it an inconvenience to wear glasses, I’ve also always appreciated that the treatment for this problem is relatively inexpensive and for the most part readily available. Which is to say that other than a period in which I had to wear a scratched lens for a month or two until I could get a new pair, I’ve never given a great deal of thought to myopia or its prevalence. But this video caught my attention, and once I started watching I did realize that when I was younger I was frequently the only person in the room wearing glasses. These days that’s rarely the case.
